No one becomes the best version of themselves by themselves.
This is a close paraphrase of something Dr. Wayne Chappelle said on the Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast.
Such a simple and powerful reminder.
The need for humility.
The need for help.
We can’t do it on our own.
There is a Proverb that says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (27:17)
Who are the people who are sharpening you?
They might not all be your favorite people.
Some might be difficult people.
There might be sparks.
That sometimes happens when iron is sharpening iron.
Do you see them that way?
How are the people around you shaping you?
Because they are.
Are they helping you become a better version of you?
Have you asked them?
Did you know you can do that?
“Will you help me become a better version of me?”
“Will you help me grow in this way…”
In what ways do you want to grow?
Who do you know that can help you in those areas?
Put yourself around them.
Ask them.
Iron sharpens iron.
No one becomes the best version of themselves by themselves.
P.S. Did you find this post helpful? If so, I have two quick requests:
— First, would you subscribe to the blog? It is an encouragement to me.
— Second, who is one person you think would also benefit from this post? Would you mind forwarding it to them?
Thank you!
