You want to do it.
You plan to do it.
But you never actually get around to doing it.
“Why?” is often a good question. It helps us get to some of the underlying reasons for the things we think, want, fear, do, etc. For example, why we aren’t doing what we want or plan to do. I like asking “Why?”
But sometimes there is a much easier solution.
In this case, I would suggest asking “When?”
When are you going to do it?
Be specific. Day and time.
And then put it on your calendar.
You have just increased the likelihood that you will actually do it by… a whole bunch. Seriously.
I still use a modified To Do list, but I have discovered over the last few years that when I put things I want to do on my calendar, they get done.
I know it sounds simple. Perhaps it sounds too simple. Trust me and try it.
When you have something you want or need to do, ask “When?” and then put it on your calendar.
P.S. Did you find this post helpful? If so, I have two quick requests:
— First, would you subscribe to the blog? It is an encouragement to me.
— Second, who is one person you think would also benefit from this post? Would you mind forwarding it to them?
Thank you!
